No Children / Adults Only Wedding
If you are considering having an Adults Only Wedding, here are some things to keep in mind.
-
Be consistent. You need to be careful not to invite one cousin and leave out another. Perhaps only invite younger close family members, such as your nieces and nephews. If you invite only some children, the parents that have had to hire a babysitter and leave their children at home may have their feelings hurt.
-
It is hard on out-of-town guests that come with their children.
- If you decide to have an Adults Only Wedding, be sure to let your guests know early, so they are not scrambling for a baby-sitter at the last minute.
One option is to include children for the wedding and perhaps the first part of the reception, then arrange for a baby-sitter. Or you might want to have a separate party for the children after the wedding at a local family member’s home.
